Costco

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Costco. I do. I start to seriously question my friendships with people if they are not card-carrying Costco members. If they've never even been???? Forget it. The place makes me happy in such a bizarre way. I love that I can get everything I need and don't need in one place. I love that while I'm shopping, there are little angels disguised as people giving away free samples of food that surprise me around every corner. A taste of eggplant parm? Heck yeah! Veggie Crisps? Why the hell not? Brownie Bites? Giddy-up! I love that their SKUs stretch an entire lifespan, from diapers to coffins. If I could have gotten an epidural at Costco, I would have had my babies there.

And I adore that my children have been trained to love it too. If your kids are cute like mine, you can roll them back by the bakery department and the bakers will give them free cookies. Reagan and I used to go every Tuesday morning and she knew as soon as we drove into the parking lot, she was going to get a cookie. I used it as a teaching tool, she learned to say "please" and "thank you" to those nice people every week. They affectionately called her "The Cookie Monster." When she was two-years-old, she knew which exit it was off the highway and would cry if we drove by without stopping. Who can blame her????

My latest discoveries at Costco??
1. Frozen Edamame. It's de-lish! They come in little bags that you just pop in the microwave for 4 minutes and then throw them in a bowl with some salt. Turns out Shelby even loves them.
2. Cowboy Caviar. It's a sweet alternative to salsa for your tortilla chips. Maybe your local Costco doesn't carry it like mine because I checked the label and it's made in New England. But man, it's good.
3. Panko-Breaded Shrimp. I served them at a party not too long ago with a little sesame-ginger/soy dipping sauce. It was yummy!
